A noncommutative weak type (1,1) estimate for a square function from ergodic theory

In this paper, we investigate the boundedness of a square function operator from ergodic theory acting on noncommutative Lp-spaces. The main result is weak type (1,1) estimate operator. We also show (L∞,BMO) estimate, and thus all strong (Lp,Lp) estimates by interpolation. new difficulty lies in fact that kernel does not enjoy any regularity, while Lipschitz regularity assumption crucial showing such endpoint for Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals.

A Weak-type Estimate for Commutators

Let K be a smooth Calderón-Zygmund convolution kernel on R and suppose we are given a function a ∈ L∞. The two-dimensional commutator Tf(x) = ∫ K(x− y)f(y) ∫ [x,y] a(z) dz dy was shown to be bounded on L(R), p > 1 by Christ and Journé [1]. In this article, we show that this operator is also of weak type (1, 1).
